Freedom, our new accelerant detection K-9, displays his skills during a media event for Arson Awareness Week. The 2-year-old Labrador Retriever joins seven full-time fire investigators to sniff out and help catch arsonists and make Orange County a safer place to live. Working 400 fires a year, the team has a 37 percent arrest rate, while the national average is about 15 percent. | Orange County Fire Authority
